Halloween Time! Katniss Everdeen makeup and costume

Hi!
I loved the Hunger Games books and LOVED Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss in the film adaptation.
Here are some pictures of the makeup I am going to aim for (fingers crossed) for my Halloween look!
Also included, are the pieces of clothing I picked up from various stores to comprise my costume.
Enjoy!
 my favorite picture
on the face: Physician's Formula multi-colored Bronzer
on the eyes: two different kinds of eyeliner used to fill in my lash line, a sparkly brown from Elizabeth Arden, a Lancome highlighting liquid, and a light/white eye shadow from Elizabeth Arden

this jacket cost me $9.99! wayyyy cheaper than the prop that was sold on Amazon.
Mockingjay Pin from Hot Topic (I think it was $12.50)
safari jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters
combat boots from meijer. they were $50, the most expensive part of my costume, but I love them so much. they go with so many other outfits!

Book Lovers Cravebox (limited edition)

Yay, I feel special!
I received my first Cravebox the other day and figured I'd talk a little about it!
Cravebox is a company that compiles themed boxes that one can then enter to receive. If one's name is picked, then Crave box charges $10-15 for that box and it is sent out. It's a pretty cool system!
I believe I read that this box was only shipped out to only 2,500 people. So far, I have tried out the strawberry licorice in the box and surprisingly, thought it was delicious. Check out the following link to my video and look under that for the photos! Enjoy :)

first impression: what is this!? ew! (I had to put a piece of the licorice in my mouth to sweeten this up a bit.)
 Natural Vines Strawberry (Soft) Licorice
first impression: yum! total thumbs up on this.

Shoping at Bath and Body Works (avoidant behavior)

What do I love to do? Shop.....okay, what I REALLY love to do is avoid my school work.
I "forgot" that I had an essay due tomorrow and went to the mall instead.
Since it's almost officially fall, Bath and Body Works already has out all their fall scents.
I was mainly looking for a Pumpkin Cupcake candle, but they were sold out at my local store.
After spending 15mins smelling every candle in sight, everything started to smell woodsy and like cinnamon...
OVERLOAD
What I did find that was amazing was this Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut candle.
I am in love.
It is truly perfection.
I could write poetry about this candle.
It reminds me of these Italian doughnuts I got at Olive Garden one time....
Anyway, I also discovered their french line of candles and picked up two mini French Baguette candles.
They smell like melted butter and flour and something baking. mmmm
(It's burning in my room right now!)
The last thing I got was a Pumpkin Cupcake wallflower refill.
It was the only thing they had in stock of that highly coveted scent.
The lady who rang me out felt sorry for me and gave me some promo codes for free shipping to order the scent online. :)
I made a video haul (ew) or what I like to call a  Shop and Tell about today's endeavor.
Please watch, and enjoy!

Just Ask!

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post in over a year. Crazy! I am back with lots of tips to save money and have fun! :)
First thing's first.  It is important to ask for samples.  Don't be shy! Usually people working at the makeup counter are paid on commission.  They want to sell to you.  If letting you try their products ahead of time gets you hooked, it is time well spent. Places like Sephora and Dillards will give you a sample of practically anything in the store.  Also, they will apply any makeup you would like to try and show you how to use it.

Be daring. Recently, I went to Dillards and I was feeling like a bold lip would be fun to try.  I had no idea what shade would flatter me so I looked around at the young ladies working at the Clinique counter.  Their lip color was beautiful! I walked up to one and complimented her on it.  Immediately, she said "Would you like to try the color on to see it for yourself?"  Yes!!  And that was it.  I got a free lip makeover and it looked great!  I would have never bought a red lipstick before and that one makeup consultant changed my opinion by just spending a few minutes letting me try it out.

Next, I have a deals that I have been sitting on for a few months and now that school is out, finally have time to share it with you!
I have become infatuated with the "sample box" idea.  MyGlam, Birchbox, Glossybox, Conscious Box, Julep Maven,  you name it, and I have researched it.  And by research, I mean watch YouTube videos about the companies.  I did subscribe to MyGlam for six months but was unsatisfied with what they put in the bags each month.  I just couldn't see spending $10 a month for crap.  In May, I signed up to be a Julep Maven.  The way their company is set up is wayyy better than MyGlam.  It is a monthly box filled with mani/pedi goodies :)  There are usually two nail polishes included and a few other bonus products to try from the company.  The cost is $19.99 for each box you decide to purchase.  (They also sometimes do Mystery boxes, which seem really fun! They are the regular price but a guaranteed to be worth more than $60!)  If you can't afford a month of nail polish, you can skip and you will not lose your membership.  I think that is just plain awesome!  If you do have the money but do not particularly like the nail colors offered, you can gift the box to a lucky friend!  There are always codes floating around to get your first box for just one PENNY.  (Coincidentally, that is the code: PENNY.) If you would like to join the Julep Maven program click here.

Before I end this post, I will leave you with a great offer code I found.
~For 25% off a NYX round lipstick, enter the code MYGLAMKISS at checkout. This code makes the lipstick only $3!
